SCSI on a latest-generation Mac notebook; how?

I'm sitting here trying to review a 12" iBook; NO iBooks regardless of
their screen size come with PC Card slots (nor, by the way, does the
12" PowerBook). I've got USB-to-SCSI and FireWire-to-SCSI adapters
from Belkin, and a USB2-to-SCSI adapter from Adaptec, sitting here.
None of them support Mac OS X. And neither vendor plans to add
support. So it seems I have no way of wiring my SCSI-based scanners up
to this Mac.

Ideas?

No PCMCIA slot seems a real step backward to me.
I mean, who knows what technologies might arise where an adaptor might be
needed (not to mention the backward compatibility you face).

I can think of no way around it, except to use one of your existing
adaptors under OS 9. (but latest Toshes don't come with the dual boot
with 9 anymore either, do they?).

VueScan should work fine with the Belkin Firewire->SCSI adapter.
Just turn on the scanner first, then the computer.

You don't need to install any software to get this to work.
