Without warning one of my three internal Seagate ST37340LW hard drive on
my W2K system won't start. As the boot screen shows devices loading,
that drive has a notation "ASYN- Start unit request failed". Device
Manager shows all devices and drivers functioning normally, and I can't
detect any other system errors. No systems settings or new software or
hard ware have been installed. The drive just quit loading. Any ideas
where to turn for possible resolutions?

That means the drive controller requested it to spin up but it failed to do
so. The drive apparently has failed. You may be able to get more details by
entering controller bios at POST or downloading a diagnostic tool from
Seagate web site.
