Can someone give me the steps to installing a SCSI Hard Drive,
starting with Windows 2000 configuration? I have already installed
the hard drive and the cables are working. I have neven installed a
SCSI Hard Drive in Windows 2000 before.

You install it the same as any other piece of hardware:
- Install the SCSI adapter
- Launch Win2000
- Pop in your driver disk or CD
- Install the driver
- Follow the instructions

You'll want to boot the Windows 2000 setup disks or CD-Rom. The set of four
install disks can be created from your Windows 2000 CD-Rom; change to the
\bootdisk directory on the CD-Rom and execute makeboot.exe (from dos) or
makebt32.exe (from 32 bit) and follow the prompts.

Then *F6* very early and very important (at setup is inspecting your system)
in the setup to prevent drive controller detection, and select S to specify
additional drivers. Then later you'll be prompted to insert the manufacturer
supplied Windows 2000 driver for your scsi controller in drive "A"

If you wait and then S to specify additional drivers, then it may be too
late as Windows 2000 Setup at this point may have already assigned the
resources your drive's controller is wanting to use.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.

Assuming it is configured with a unique SCSI ID...
Assuming it either has a terminator on the end of the drive (for LVD drives)
or is terminated by jumpers on the drive itself (non LVD drives)....
Assuming you configured the SCSI card bios to spin up the drive....
Assuming it's not something like a HVD drive on an LVD controller....
Assuming the drive isn't low level formatted to some off the wall specs
that the card can't access....
And assuming a bunch of other things....

Boot to Winders.
Download and install the drivers for the SCSI card.
Possibly reboot.
Open Administrative Tools => Disk Management
Let the system bring up what disks it finds....
Right click the new disk and Partition it from the context menu.
Let it finish. This will give it a drive letter and it will be seen in
Windows Explorer but cannot be used yet.
Right click again and format the disk.
Now you can use the disk.

More specs and model numbers would be helpful.
If this process didn't work, I'll need more info...
