I am having a problem, or at least an error with a Sony SDT-11000 DDS
drive connected to an Adaptec 7902 HostRAID controller. When the
system starts, I get around 8 Event 11's logged in the error log (see
below). This error is also logged several times when running a backup
(using Veritas 9.1 + Veritas device drivers). Despite these errors
however, the backup runs with no problems! I have also tested the
drive with the Sony Tape Utility diagnostics which all pass
(incidently, the running of these diags also causes the error 11 !).
I have tries installing the Sony drivers in preference to the Veritas
- no difference. I have also moved the drive onto the first controller
- the only difference here is that the controller error is reported on
\Device\Scsi\a320raid1.
Additionally, and this may well be totally unrelated, but as the
server starts, I always get an Error 10010 logged also (see below). I
understand that the DCOM server reported is connected with the
Removable Storage Manager ? As I say, this may well be irrelevant!?
Do I have a faulty drive, or is this a Windows, configuration or
incompatibility problem ?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Regards,
James Royce.
