One of the MSXP updates has a bug in it which causes a click on the scroll
bar to drop 2 pages at a time instead of 1.
Some kind MVP has told me once which update it is and gave me a command to
enter to remove it (it does not appear in add/remove progs). I have since
formatted my HD and run all the updates again and now have the same problem
again. Will someone please give me the instruction again and I promise to
make a note of it this time.

Many thanks.

It would be better to keep the security on the update and
live with the scroll thing. If you must remove the
update it is in your add/remove window listed
as "internet explorer" ....not in the hotfix listing.

Thanks anonymous, found Q824145 where you said, which I suppose is the one
I'm referring to. As you suggest I'll see if I can live with it for a while
but it is a bit annoying.
I wonder when they will update the update. Perhaps when they have updated
all the other updates and updates of the updates to original updates.

don't start that 'update' thingy again...
