Scrolling effect painful

I recently installed XP Pro on my laptop. When I open a document, email. or
web page and scroll down it does it like in frames or waves rather just
normal up and down scrolling.

I have been tried everything to change the visual effects but have not been
succesful. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you check for hardware/software compatibility for XP on the laptop?
Did you install the proper video adapter/chipset drivers? If you have and
they are older, you may still want to check the manufacturers support site
for updated drivers.

Have a look in Display properties > Settings tab > Advanced button >
Monitor tab and up the refresh rate a notch or two if you can.

denis i think your problem is in your graphics card drivers when u install
your xp it automatcly installs its version of the drivers these normally work
but but should be only for a temporary use in higher resulotions the computer
may become a bit slow u should search for the correct manufactor drives these
are normally provided with the computer have a look at the computer cds and
look specially do a cd that says drivers try to install your correct graphics
card drivers from this cd.

trick.....I appreciate the help
