Hi

Since I updated SP1 I have had a problem with the scroll
bar (on the right). Before I updated I would click on
the scroll bar and it would scroll 1 window at a time now
it scrolls 1 and 1/2 windows, it's driving me crazy. Has
anyone else had this problem since updating? has anyone
got a fix?

Thanks for your help.

answer, thanks

Hi,
Caused by a bug in the Q824145 patch. Click just under the slider in the
scrollbar or drag the slider.

You can uninstall the update and wait for the next one, but you'll be
re-opening a security hole.

Position cursor 'close' to the top/bottom of the
slider bar and it should scroll one window.
Use the mouse wheel to scroll.....as applicable
See mouse properties (Wheel tab) to adjust
Press/Hold/Slide actual slider-bar
Up/Down Arrows (Single line!!!)
Left/Right Arrows (<---Very Slooow--->)
Pageup/Pagedown (Too obvious???)
Home/End (Top line/Bottom line -- wow)
R-click scroll area.....menu....select option

I have had this problem as well for 3 weeks since I
loaded one of Microsoft's security enhancements.
Postings in the newsgroup at that time implied that MS
would fix this problem. I just loaded the brand new
security patch KB810217 and re-booted but there is no
change. Scrolling is still goofy on Internet Explorer.
But it is just fine with Word or any other application
running off my hard drve.

Until M$ fixes this, you can hit SPACE to go down one page
at a time, and SHIFT-SPACE to go up one page. It is
annoying though...
