Hi Im getting this problem in which when I scroll a web
page, click on a hyperlink or any activity similar to
those two, my computer response time is very slow
sometimes I have to wait almost a minute just for the page
to scroll a little or for the computer to realize that a
hyper link has been clicked on. When I scroll the
scrolling is a scroll little stop scroll little stop until
the page is scrolled as much as I wanted to but it could
take up to 5 minutes just to scroll a page. This problem
has just started recently I have not installed anything
new software or hardware wise. I have run scandisk,
defragmented, cleared browser cache, temporary internet
files, run norton windows checkup but no problem came up.
I have over 20 gb in harddrive space free and 160mb in
ram. Please give me suggestions on how to correct this
problem. Thank you

have you done a virus scan with the most recent virus defintitons?
If you don't have a virus scanner, get one. in the meantime, you can go to
www.antivirus.com for a free online scan.

PS: scandisk is for win95/98 machines. Win2k uses chkdsk, are you using
win2k, or win98?
Or do you have the whole Norton SystemWorks suite, and you mean you used
those tools for your checking?

if this doesn't work, say so and we'll try a few other things.
