what could the deal be?
Scott Drysdale said:i think it's part of the "double scrolling" problem.
i'm running a fully-updated win2k/IE6 system.
1)when dragging the scroll bar handle, the scrolling will
stop, the pointer changes to the "no/do not" symbol, and
the window will no longer scroll. when the mouse button
is released, the scroll handle jumps to the bottom of the
scroll box.
2) when scrolling around by any means (arrow/pgup/pgdn
keys, clicking scroll arrows, clicking empty scroll bar
area, etc), sometimes the newly scrolled-to part of the
page will display for a couple of seconds, and then IE
jumps to the end of the page.
these problems are MUCH worse than the double scroll issue
because they render some pages unviewable, and i'm
surprised nobody else has mentioned them.
i have not yet tried to uninstall the security update
mentioned in the double-scroll threads.
please MS, get your collective thumbs out of your
collective butts and fix this.
