a scroll bar has appear on my toolbar which means i can't see all my open
programs at once. to go from, for example, a word document to internet
explorer i have to click on the scroll bar on the right. this is
completely
pointless and just creates an extra task. DOES AN@YONE KNOW HOW TO GET RID
OF
THIS? Thanks a million for your help

Several suggestions here:
1) Group Similar Taskbar Buttons.
Right click the task bar, go to Properties, CLick the Task bar tab, Select
"Group similar task bar buttons", Click OK to save in each dialog box.
(I'm sure this method has been around since the days of Windows 95, with the
introduction of the Start Menu/Task Bar so I'm suprised you haven't tried
this)
Right click the task bar
Go to Properties
Click Task Bar tab
Select/Check "Group Similar taskbar buttons" (this groups those of the same
type e.g. all word docs, all open browser windows etc. If you click the
buttons you get a context menu from which you can then choose to re-maximise
the document/application window or program).
Click Apply/OK to close and save the settings.
2) Turn Off Quick Launch to free up space on the Task bar.
3) You could also use Alt+Tab or Windows Key+Tab (for Flip-3D if you have it
4) Make the task bar two rows high to accommodate the extra buttons.
(unlock the task bar if necessary, the drag the top edge up, to make the bar
two rows high; the extra buttons will 'wrap' to the next line.
Hope this helps.
Andrew.
