hello, i recently have discovered a strange problem with
my scroll bar. It used to be that if you clicked on the
scroll bar below where it currently is displaying, it
paged down one page. recently it has changed so it pages
down to wherever my cursor happens to be on the scroll
bar. Is this a new update for XP? i am running windows xp
professional, and have regular updates automatically
installed. if so..how do i remove this feature? i prefer
the old way the scroll bar works.

Jessica.

But this is a new thing....it did not do this a month
ago...is there a fix for it, rather than going around the
problem?

This is caused by a slight flaw in the last update for IE and the only way
to overcome it is to uninstall the update, personally it doesn't bother me
as I don't use the scroll bar very often, I use the wheel on my mouse to
scroll.
Hope this helps.
Joan

Yes, it is a new "feature" that microsoft implemented in one of the
updates. Very poorly implemented if you ask me. Needs to be an option
to select how you want it to be instead of just assuming everyone wants
the new way.

I too prefer the old way, and have started using other programs instead
because of this. I now use Mozilla instead of IE and Outlook Express,
and prefer it much more.

Hey anonymous: Why are you such a jerk? You've posted useless insults all over the newsgroups about this issue. SOME people prefer using their mouse and the scroll bar. We DON'T care that you think the keyboard's better.
