I am looking for a script to manually add Host (A) records to our W2K3 DNS
server. I've got about 300 entries in an exported DNS file and I need to
add them to a zone.

Thanks,
Fred

Thanks for the reply. I saw these utilities yesterday but they are more
work than just manually doing it for a few hundred. It should be doable to
write a script that will take an input file like the export dns file and
import it back into a zone. I am under the gun here and gotta get these
entered. I will try to script this and post it back in a later date.

Thanks,
Fred

I Fred,

shouldn't be too much work - I just wrote a script for a company to verify
specific zones in the cache of the dns-server and verify those settings against
other zones in a migration szenario, and it wasn't to much issue but saved us
the work to verify 3000+ Records and to select which to migrate and what to
keep in the other zone. (Result were about 30 records)

If you get stuck in the script just repost.

Gruesse - Sincerely,

Ulf B. Simon-Weidner
