script error

Hello

I updated the component database with the latest security patches (Security
Update Feb. 2006, downloaded from XPe download/update site).
After i generated a new image and installed it on the target machine i get a
lot of errors: for example:
-> running "microsoft baseline security analyzer" raises a lot of "internet
explorer script errors" (jscript)
-> Windows help (F1) shows only a few parts
-> the user-accounts control panel shows only a white window background (and
some error boxes appear).
....

I think there is a problem with the scripting engine (or configuration)
because all script-based apps do not work properly.
Is there maybe a problem with the new updates or do i have to set some
configuration entries?

Regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas:

We need some info from you to follow-up on this.

Can you give us some indication of the configuration you are using?
What's in the config, any additional components you may have created,
etc? If you can post a build log, that would help immensely.

Is this XPE SP1 or SP2?

Do you have any other updates installed, like WMP10 or SMS?

Which rollup did you have installed before you applied February 2006?
Did the functionality you mentioned below work with that old rollup and
was broken by the February rollup?

There is the chance that we will need more in depth investigation that
we cannot pursue in the newsgroup - if that's the case, I'll recommend
you pursue this with PSS, who can help narrow the issue down in a more
timely and efficient manner.

Hi Jon

1. Configuration: XPe with SP2 (no additional components, no other updates)
-> after installation on target everything is ok

2. I upgraded the XPe-DB with the Feb.06 Database-Update and made a new
Image with TD:
-> Apps which need HTML and Scripting produce errors (e.g. User Account
Control Panel -> when starting i get an error box: "Wrong number of arguments
or invalid property assignment").

3. Alternative: I installed a XPe SP2 on the target machine. After that i
installed the updates manually on the target (Feb06-Update contains 8 single
Updates). The problematic Update is the IE Update KB905915. After installing
this the errors occur.

Also I installed the IE Update KB905915 on a clean XP Prof SP2. There the
update works.
