Hello, I have been searching the newsgroups but have not
seen this problem. My wife uses Walmart Connect to
browse the internet. Ever since I installed the Sp2
upgrade, whenever she opens the Walmart program a
Internet Explorer script error appears. The disable
script debugging is checked and the display notification
about scipt errors is unchecked in internet properties.
I do not receive this error when using IE, but I know the
Walmart program is based on Aol and Internet explorer. I
would appreciate any possible solutions. Thank you.

Try the following and see if it helps:

To download the Microsoft Java VM for Windows XP from
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Go to the Windows Update Site (Start/All Programs/Windows Update/Personalize
Windows Update/Enable the Windows Update Catalog. Save Settings. Select
Windows Update Catalog from the left hand pane/Select Find updates for
Microsoft Windows systems from the right hand pane/Select Windows XP/Search.
Select Critical Updates and Service Packs.
Select the March 4th Security Update as it contains Windows XP VM.

Or you can download it from one of these locations:

http://www.download.windowsupdate.c..._CD24D109B33421DB6728FBDC80C9F572EB7A3865.exe
or
http://ftp.uni-stuttgart.de/pub/systems/win95/fixes/VM/msjavx86.exe
or
ftp://ftp.uq.edu.au/mirror/microsoft/patches/winxp/javavm_3319_MIL_4275/MSJavx86.exe

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I was unable to use the links you
posted, but I was able to find a link to download
Microsoft Java VM. The problem still exists. I also
installed the latest Java program and still no help. I
guess I'll give up on this. It's mainly an annoyance
anyway. Thanks.

The only thing that I think may be something for you to be concerned
about here is whether the symptom you are getting is a popup window
or just the warning message in the Status bar. If it is the latter unless
you are missing some significant content from the page just ignore it
and the site's web master will eventually get around to fixing the problem. If it is something you are really interested in seeing
fixed
quickly notify the site about the symptom.

I do not receive this error when using IE

That may only mean that the site reacts differently to two different
requests. One difference which causes different paths to be taken
especially when scripting is allowed is the User-Agent string.

What do you see if you enter this in an IE Address bar on each?

javascript:navigator.userAgent

(the property name is case sensitive; so notice that uppercase A.)

However, what is more important about the User-Agent string
is whether it reaches its destination. Some network security products
may modify it; so it is also useful to compare what a remote site claims
to actually see, with what the above IE window showed you.

Steve Gibson's ShieldsUP! site has one such remote service.

(Choose Browser Headers once you allow it to Proceed.)

Another site which you could use for comparing browser functionality is:

Post back your detailed observations if you need more help.
