Hi all,
I installed XP SP2 on two (more or less identical)
computers.
On one machine I have a problem with the search
capabilities since then.
Each time I open "Search on this page" (Ctrl+F) I get an
error dialog (translated from German):
"Internet Script Error"
Line: 31
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/fild.dlg
followed by the question: Do you want to continue
executing this page?
If I answer with Yes of No I come back to the search
dialog.
Each time I enter a character in the search window, the
error message pops up again. The "Find Next" button is
greyed out.
The only way to solve this is to clock on the close icon
in the top right.

The PC is spyware free (by Spysweeper) and virus free (G
Data virus scan). The Router is configured very
restrictive, the XP firewall is on.
Hence I would not anticipate a virus or hijacker. I am
not completely sure whether it is related to the SP2. But
the error appears since I got it installed.

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Joe

Uninstall SP2 until all the many bugs are worked out.

.

Sounds like a plan...
But why does it work on one PC and not on the other ?
(same brand, same configuration, same OS status)
