Script Error Message

I continue to receive a script error message about every 15 minutes that reads, "A script on this page is causing IE to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to about this script." I always click "yes", but about 15 minutes later the message returns. I have disabled the script debugging and disabled the automatic script error notification in IE (which I was told would fix it), but that hasn't worked. This message occurs even when I am not on IE which indicates that somehow, a website is continuing to try and run script in the background. Any suggestions? I'm desparate and even with my virus software I'm still concerned about being susceptible to attack.

Li,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
