I recently discovered I had a virus on my computer. I
found it with Norton and since it couldn't do anything to
fix it, I just just ended up reformatting. I've now
reinstalled Windows XP Pro and have installed all my
drivers and such. Of course now that I have everything up
and running again I've started to discover new problems.
My internet works very seldom and every game I've tried
locks up within 5 minutes. I ran Norton and found no
virus. What can I do?! I'm clueless.

Unfortunately this sometimes happens when doing a new installation and there
could be any number of reasons for that. Not using the newest drivers, using
incorrect drivers. Then there are other things one can do in addition such
as resetting your CMOS (this one could also be done the hard way by pulling
the battery from the mobo), resetting router and/or external modem if one is
used, powering system down and leaving it of for few hours sometimes helps.
Also if nothing helps, do the install over again but this time check your
connection after each step before installing a new program and/or change the
order at which you install the individual programs.
