I have a little problem with making screenshots from
videos. I press print screen and copy it to a photo
editor but i only see the media player toolbar and a
blank screen. Can somebody please help?

In order to capture the screen of a scene when playing a video (I assume
here you are playing a DVD), you need to play this DVD with software capable
of screen capture as you play the video. Window media player does not have
this capability and pressing the print screen button will never work for
this.
Here is software capable of doing what you want.
http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/product_main.jsp?ProdId=28
When using it, you simply click on the button "capture" when you want, and a
file of the scene is made in a folder (you can configure it to a folder you
make or use the default folder) each time you click the capture button. The
image files made are of surprisingly good quality (when you view on your
monitor) and you can get a decent, not great, print at 6 x 4 from these
saved files.
You can try the demo at the above site, although I don't know if the demo
version includes the "capture" capability.

===================================
As you have discovered...printscreen doesn't
work for video.

The freebie at the following link can copy the
current frame of an .avi or .mpg file to your
Windows Clipboard.

Virtualdub
http://www.virtualdub.org/

Just drag the slider to advance the video to the
frame you require and type...Ctrl 1...to copy the
frame to your clipboard.

Also...the freeware IrfanView can extract all the
frames from a video file as .bmps. Be aware if
the file is large you will have a *large* number
of frames.

Download IrfanView 3.92
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html
(get the plug-ins too)

Open the video in IrfanView and go to...
Options / Extract All Frames...
A dialog box will appear so you can choose
a destination folder.

Also, you can specify which frames you require
by changing the numbers.
