Hi NG,

I have had my laptop for almost a year now and have heard that a "Snapshot"
of the screen that is presently presented can be made and inserted into
emails etc. How is this Snapshot made? Where does the snapshot land and in
what format is it? Does the format have to be changed to another format
before it can be inserted in mails etc.

Thank in advance for the help

Earl

By pressing the Print Screen button on your keyboard, the computer takes an
image of your entire display. This image must then be placed in a picture
program, such as paint, and then saved. The format of course, can be chosen
when you save.
*Press Alt + Prt Scr to take a picture ONLY of the current selected window.

Hit PrtScn (Print Screen) open up a graphics editing program like Paint or
Word, edit paste. Do any formatting you want.

If you just want the active windows While holding down the ALT key press
print screen and paste into paint, or Word or whatever.

If you want more features and to easily edit them try Snag-It from TechSmith
www.techsmith.com. There are others out there, but this is the only one I
have used. I like that I can capture a webpage, it will scroll to the bottom
to get the whole page (not just what is on screen).

The screenshot resides in the Windows Clipboard, and can be pasted into
a document by striking CTRL+V (or by putting the curser where you want
the top-left corner of the image to be in the document, then clicking on
"Edit|Paste".)

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard (iow, into RAM). To view the screen capture, open a
graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will
paste the contents of the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open
file, and allow you to view it or save it as a file for later use.
