Screenshot pgm that takes _full_ screenshots not just what's on screen?

This is another one of those programs I've been meaning to find for
years and have never gotten around to it. All the screenshot programs
I've ever tried take a picture of what you see on the screen. Is
there anything out there that will allow you to take a picture of an
_entire_ page of something, whether it's all seen on the screen or
not? I imagine that all it would mean is having scrollability when
capturing. That one drags to the bottom of the screen and it keeps
going down, showing more of anything that is there, until one stops
dragging??

I did a search on the archives, but no luck today. Thanks.

Are you looking for something that will capture the entire window, or
just the document frame. If you want just the document, you might try
PDFCreator, <https://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/>. It installs
as a printer driver. When you print to it, you can choose to create a
PDF or several types of graphics formats, including PNG and TIFF. I've
used it to create multipage TIFF documents and it works really well. If
you have something longer than a page (US letter size), printing to a
multipage graphics format will capture all pages, which would be
displayable in IrfanView or other programs. Alternatively, you can
adjust the page length up to 200" to accomodate printing the document in
a single (and long) graphic.

By definition a "screenshot" is only what you can see on-screen. ;)

Entire document or window vs just what is seen on the screen. Tx.

I'm not sure I made my description clear enough that you understood what
I meant. I meant to ask whether you needed just the document or the
window chrome (that is, title bar, scrollers, toolbars, menus, etc). To
give you an idea what I mean, take a look at
<http://home.comcast.net/~base12/SETIatHome.png>. It's a print to PNG
done with PDF Creator, the page length set at 20 inches.
