My screensaver program has stopped working. No matter what time I put in
to have it activate or no matter what I want to show on the screensaver, it
will not kick in. I am running Windows Vista Premium. Any suggestions will
be appreciated.

Yes, I have a wireless mouse and a microsoft keyboard with fingerprint id,
which does not work by the way because the digital persona password manager
1.0 is not compatible with windows vista. Just thought i would throw that
last part in.

Terrific--glad to hear it. It helps if you mark your initial question as
answered--that will enable others searching for an answer to find a correct
one more quickly.

I don't believe so. What is the problem you are seeing, and do you have a
wireless mouse or keyboard?

I was having the same problem after adding microsoft wireless keyboard and
mouse. It did work for me though. Thanks

I'm very pleased to hear that it worked. The article specified only Vista
as an applicable version of Windows, so I didn't expect it to allow you to
install it.

If you are able, it would be good to go back to that article, and, at the
bottom, I believe you can submit feedback. Suggesting that they add Windows
XP as an OS version that it applies to would be good. I'll try to do the
same thing--and also look to see whether there are two different articles
both pointing to the same fix.

I'm not sure you can have the same issue with XP.

Tell us what happens: What hardware, what service pack level and version of
XP, what screensaver?

i bought microsoft communitations pack 3000 wireless keboard and mouse also
came w\ LifeCam VX-3000. after i hooked it up my sreensaver quit working, all
of them no matter how many minutes i set it for it wont come on.
I have Microsoft windows XP Media center edition 2005 820 intel vivi pentium
D, 2 GB memory, nvidia Geforce 7300 LE graphics card. I hope i gave you
everything you need to know. Thanks

In general, Microsofts view has been that this issue on XP is caused by
third party programs:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916256

I haven't found any evidence that there's an equivalent update for XP to the
one for Vista. If there were, I would expect it to be offered as an
optional update--so with the wireless devices connected and running, try
doing a custom scan at WindowsUpdate and see whether anything useful is
offered.
