Hi.
A friend of mine has downloaded and installed a free screensaver along a
Christmas theme. However, not at all in keeping with the festive spirit,
this screensaver appears to have put loads of icons on their desktop to do
with free stuff. When they try and delete the icons through the documents
and settings folder, windows explorer just crashes and has to be shut down.
AVG, Spybot and Adaware all come up clean, but these icons are still there
and will not be deleted, or even right-clicked on. Any ideas? Thanks.

Start up in safe mode and get rid of the screensaver and all the crap that
came with it. You don't get nothing for nothing. At the end of the day free
screensavers are not free.

This may not help, but...

I can remember a few years ago, we did a wind-up on a work colleague.
We did a "CTRL-PRNT SCREEN" to capture the destop and all the icons.
We made this image his wallpaper, and then removed his "REAL" icons.

Rather childish really.
