screensaver issues

when i set my screensaver to run after 1 minute of inactivity, it works. But when i set it ....say, past 2 minutes onwards..... it does not run at all. I tried disabling all my startup actions but that does not help. I need help ASAP!!!

why do you need help asap? is it really that big of a problem?
well i could be your mouse, i think laser and optical mice could keep it from going into a screen saver.

tanx for the response alf....but somehow i dont think it's the mouse. it's one of those ancient ones...the one with the ball...lol. and the reason i was saying asap is cause this thing has been bugging me for almost a freaking year!!! but tanx anyway
