Screensaver fails

I'm using XP professional and I can't get any screensaver
to actually run.

The system just stays on the desktop screen and the
screensaver never loads or activates.

Can ayone help?

Scott: I just posted a similar query re: XP (Home). FYI, I think I have isolated part of my problem to McAfee anti-virus program constantly adding a task to task manager: "check for updates every 5 minutes" etc. (even 'tho all settings are "manual") I've dealt with McAfee to no avail, but find I can get SS to work fine if I elim McAfee. Just a hint that there may be some activity in your task manager. May be a directional clue 4 u? DaveV
