Screensaver doesn't start automatically

Hi Kelly,

I've looked at both your links and I've tried the
registry fixes on your site, but to no avail. Also, the
MS site doesn't apply and I have all the latest updates.

I'm trying to run the Mystify screensaver (or any other
screensaver for that matter), but it just won't start.
I've tried resetting the amount of time that the
screensaver should start after, both from the screensaver
menu and manually in the registry. I am getting quite
annnoyed at this, since I've had this problem for about a
month now. Please help!

Thanks in advance,

Nick

There are many issues with the screensavers in XP. Just not sure which you
should focus on at this time. Good luck and keep us posted, Nick.

I have been having the same problem. I did a drastic move and reformatted my machine and after each software installation I made sure that the screensaver worked. I found one buggy piece of software, Cyberlink PowerDVD, so I uninstalled it and removed it's entries from the registry. Screen Saver worked. I upgraded QuickBooks Pro 2000 to QBP 2003, screensaver stopped working. Okay, uninstall QBP 2003 and do a system restore. Now the screensaver will only activate after I log off or do a Windows Key+L. Very strange. I guess I could roll back my system to when I "refreshed" it, but I would hate to load all that software again. It is obviously a Microsoft bug since a number of us are having the same problem
