screen width

after plugging my headphones into the wrong socket by mistake, my monitor
display has shrunk! I now have two thick black lines either side of my
display screen and I don't know how to restore it to its original width. Can
anyone help?!
 
Hi there:

I don't think sticking your headphone into the wrong socket caused your
problem. On the bottom of your monitor you'll see some dials or buttons
which you can use the adjust the width of the image. The instructions
for using them are in your monitor's user guide.
