Try booting into Safemode (press f8 before you get to the
Windows XP logo) And Change the resolution (right click
the desktop area and select properties then select the
Settings Tab) Change it to something Very low with veyr
low colors... And tyr to reboot into normal mode again, If
this does not work, Attempt using the ADVANCED setting in
the same dialog to make sure your monitor has been
installed, And that you have the correct Refresh rate.
One more thing, If your Video card has Dual Video Output
(two places for a monitor) try moving it from one spot to
another.
I had a card that had Dual Video And I thought i had the
monitor in the correct place, because as it turns out
whenever you boot up BOTH monitors will work, but until
you set it up in windows, ONE will shut off at the XP
logo... So something else to watch out for
