I am making a word document for work which requires a good number of
screen shots. I noticed that the file size for the document has grown
to 6 MB. Is there a way for me to convert the screen shots pictures in
the document to a format to create a smaller file size?

Thank you!

Turn off Fast Saves so that incremental edits don't store additional
complete copies of the image file in the document.

Many image editors allow you to decrease the image color resolutioon and
file format. For screen-shots I often save the results as GIFs.

Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com) allows me to do a range of screen-shots and
save the results down to manageable dimensions.

If something doesn't make sense, it could be worse e.g.

One thing that you can do to decrease the size of them is paste them into
Paint and then same them as Black and White and then copy and paste the
Black and While picture into Word.

Generally a JPG will give you the smallest files size. Which if used
will then give you a smaller word document. If you convert the document
to a PDF it will be a lot smaller than the doc file.
