None of the screen savers work on my computer. I have tried all the other
suggestions from the board to no avail. I don't have a wireless mouse. I
don't have a program Power DVD. Any other suggestions? They worked at one
time, but I don't know what changed.

When I change screen savers, and preview them, they show in the preview.
When I try to apply them however, they never activate. I've tried changing
the times also.

You may need to install the motherboard chipset drivers in order for your
Windows to understand how to control the motherboard devices correctly (Video,
IRQs, IDEs, SATA etc...).

You may have to "update" the video card drivers to the latest ones available
from your video card's manufacturer.

it is possible you have some program or process running in background that
won't allow screensaver to activate.

What do you have running in background?

I got a new computer last week and have realized today that my screen saver
doesn't work. I've tried everything.

have you tried various screensavers?
all fail to activate?
check task manager and see what processes you have running.

None of mine work either but it is because the monitor power saver kicks in
before the screen saver. Could this be something that is happening with
yours? Check the monitor for a power saver option that could kick in before
the screen saver.
I hope this helps
Glenda

No, nothing is running in the background. I did see on one of the other
topics that someone fixed this problem by changing their cordless mouse from
the usb port to the adapter connection. I haven't tried that yet. We added
the cordless mouse and keyboard (both microsoft) the other day...I think the
screensaver was working before that but couldn't swear to it. Think I may
just call Dell this morning. Thanks.

Thanks, Glenda. I have gone through all the power stuff before I posted. I
can find no reason...but like I responded to the other reply....maybe it's
the cordless mouse and keyboard. When I find an answer I will post it here.
