Hey everyone,

Ever since installing windows xp pro, I have noticed that
the screen saver tab in display properties is missing.
The tabs I have are themes, desktop, appearance, and
settings. I have tried using add/remove windows
components, but this does not seem to work. I did
however enable a screensaver by right clicking on it in
explorer and activating it that way. Unfortunately, no
options can be set, so I'm stuck with the default until I
can get that tab to appear. I'm running XP Pro (sp-1) on
an athlon 1.3 ghz with a geforce 2 mx card and 256 mb
RAM. I have the latest video drivers and all of the
latest windows updates. Thanks.

First, is your computer joined to a network domain? (If this is the case, a
group policy may have turned this off for you.)

Otherwise, check the following registry value:

If so, there's a setting you should check in the registry.

(WARNING: If you haven't worked with the registry before, take a look at
this first -

Go to the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
key and verify that the value of "NoDispScrSavPage" is 0.
