Screen Saver Killing Printer?

Hi folks, It's this dummy again. Y'all helped me out with with my 'Big
Mistake', and as soon as I learn how to post a reply, I'll thank you
all very much for that!! New problem is my printer. It seems that
whenever the computer goes to sleep, I can't print when it wakes up.
The printer is an Epson Color Stylus 760. (Yeah, I know, I should get a
newer printer, but when it works, it works very well!) I did download
and install the XP drivers for it. If I turn the printer on and reboot
the computer, it works fine. But after waking it up, I get a
"Communication Error" message, saying there may be a cable loose, which
there isn't. If I shut the printer down and bring it back up, I get a
message saying the printer is out of paper, which it isn't. But a
printer shutdown AND a reboot of the computer makes everything work
again.
Any (EASY!!) suggestions?

Thanks again,

Ken

I have a 760 & have never had any problems.
Two ideas -
1. Something in the printer has died.
2. And check Start, Printers & Faxes to make sure it's still shown as the
default printer (Epson Printer Default) after a reboot.

How is it connected? USB or parallell port?
If USB, it could be that the computer shuts down the USB ports to conserve
power.
If it's that, Start->Run: devmgmt.msc
-> USB-controllers
on all USB Root hubs, Properties -> Power Management -tab
Disable "allow computer..."
