Screen saver doen't come on?

All the setting are correct for the screensaver and other display propereties
but the screensaver just won't come on. It previews fine. When in safe mode I
think it works. When shutting down and the programs are all closing if I
stop half way then idle it works. But otherwise it will not come on. We run
Vet. No Idea, I've tried all I can think of.

Please someone must have seen this before.

Another checkpoint - make sure that a program is not causing the computer to remain active. You may
have a program running in the background that springs into life when the computer is idle.
