Screen Saver and Scroll Bars Do Not Work

Downloaded a free Screen Saver from American Greetings Web Site. Now the
entire screen saver function fails to work. In addition, the scroll bars do
not work in any program. Computer screen flickers and computer buzzes
periodically. Have current Norton Internet Security. Shows no virus. Ran
Norton Win Doctor. Did not fix. Tried to run system restore at multiple
check points. All restore attempts failed. Any ideas how to fix?
 
So...a screen saver you obtained from American Greetings caused trouble.
Looks like American Greetings owes you an solution.
