Right now my laptop goes into my photo album after 5 minutes an uses it as a
screensaver. Pictures rotate forever until I use again.

If I'm leaving it on all the time 'd like it to go black after a set time
and stay black until I want to use it again.

Can someone tell me what my option(s) are and give me specific instructions
for changing the setting.

I have been trying to figure it out and dont want to mess things up. Being
slightly learnng disabled I have done that and then my friend who has to fix
it yells at me which stresses me

I have this setting on 2 different notebook computers. It works on one but
not the other, any suggestions?? THANKS

If you don't want to the photo screensaver to ever show up, right click the
desktop and choose properties. On the Screensaver tab, select Blank for the
screensaver.

If you would like to have a screensaver for a small while before standby
kicks in, choose a different screensaver than what you are using now. For
some reason, the photo screensaver you're using is not allowing
"standby/monitor off" to kick in. Choose one of the simpler screensavers
such as Windows XP. You want to choose a basic screensaver because most, if
not all, of the more complex screensavers will have problems allowing
standby too.

There are additional settings in Power Options and in Display>Screensaver
regarding the Welcome screen/log on prompt. May want to configure those to
your liking while you're adjusting the other settings.

I do not have an answer for your question, but here's a tip...

That looks like you actually took a picture of the screen with a camera.

You can make a screen shot of your computer without using a camera.

The Print Screen key, is often abbreviated as Print Scrn.

Print Scrn key copies everything on your screen.

The sole function of this key is to take a snapshot or picture of your
computer screen and copy it to the clipboard.

Alt key+ Print Scrn key

[[Will take a screenshot of the currently selected window, not the entire
screen like the normal screenshot function. This allows you to target that
specific window that you have open and nothing else. No more cropping those
screenshots to grab the content you were after!]]

You have to paste the image in to Paint, Wordpad, Word or some other program
that will handle images.

I had that problem. I went into Control Panel/Display/Screen Saver and
changed it from "My Pictures Slideshow" to "Blank".
