Screen resolutions

I changed the screen resolution from 800 X 600 to 1024 X
768 - now when I change it back to 800 X 600 (which I
realize I prefer), the screen 'jumps' - any advice?
 
Check your Display, settings, advanced, adapter, list all modes, in the
control panel,
Try selecting a lower refresh rate.
