Dealing with Sony is a real pain.
You will need the drivers from Sony that work with your Video specifically
written for Win 2k.
You *may* even need to get your Win 2k OS from Sony, if they have one for
that laptop.
You would have been better off getting the Laptop with Win 2k loaded from
Sony.
I had to deal with Sony when downgrading one of their laptops from XP to Win
2k. They had all the drivers, etc.. I needed on their website, their techs
pointed me to these drivers, when they would not work with my version of Win
2k they said I had to get the version of Win 2k from Sony. When I asked
about getting the "Sony" version of Win 2k for that laptop, they said they
didn't make one?!!??
I ended up returning the Laptop to Sony.
I *really* hate to tell you this, but I'm about 90% sure the laptop was a
PCG-FRV26.
If you go here :
http://ciscdb.sel.sony.com/cgi-bin/swu-index.pl
This lists driver downloads for the XP OS, if you select "other O/S" from
the left side you will see there is nothing listed. I think they finally
removed the drivers for Win 2k since they ONLY worked with Sony's OEM
version of Win 2k for that laptop.
I guess since they don't make a Sony OEM for that laptop they finally
figured out the drivers were useless.
