Have a pc screen that's failed...Its under warrantee and the company will
replace it with the same model...but I want the next size up - same
manufacturer. They are considering this and I expect them to agree and will
ask me to pay extra....just wondering what would be reasonable for me to
agree to pay - if anything?
Original screen with 3-year guarantee, 19" Viewsonic in 2006 cost £276, the
one I want now is a 22" Viewsonic costing about £250. The exact 19" model
has been superseded but screen costs generally have come down in the last
2.5 years.
Thanks.

Since the company is only obligated to replace or repair the 19" you can
only wait and see what they would charge you to get the additional size
replacement since they've agreed to consider your request. If it's a no
brainer and it's a pittence for the larger size then the question is moot.
If the charge is substantial then it's probably worth just sticking with the
19" and considering getting a larger monitor and paying for it when you
absolutely need it. Agreed larger screen sizes have been dropping
dramatically.
