My luck hasn't held out!

Turned the pc off last night after crysis download and others, wake up this morning to turn it back on, pc works fine but my screen is wigging out.

It does the normal in the top left corner of "analogue to digital" but then it KEEPS going between these for a good few seconds then after that, the screen stays black and the on/off button flicks on and off?

I did find of the the GFX power cables loose, put that back in to no avail also ...

Please help! Screwing on this new pc!

Try the monitor with a different computer. If it works ok there then that eleiminates the monitor being faulty.

Check the card is seated securely in it's slot; check both power cables are connected well, including the PSU connection; turn computer off at PSU switch, wait ten seconds or so and switch on again; attempt to boot into Bios by hitting the del key on start and see if the Bios screen displays; check graphics card fan is turning; check all SATA cable connections are good, inc the PSU connectors.

I can't think of anything else to check, tbh, maybe somebody else has some suggestions?

If none of that lot work, suspect a fault somewhere, likely the graphics card, possibly the motherboard, but that does seem unlikely.

Yep, trying the monitor on a new PC is the best thing to narrow down the problem. :)

Check the DVI cable has not come loose. What DVI slot on the card are you using?

V_R i used both connectors on the card, no luck.

i have checked all cables and such, but will take the whole thing about tonight and reconnect every cable.

I tried on another monitor also and it just said "no signal" so i am guessing my card is at fault if none of these work?

You did try a new monitor? Sounds like the card's dead if the second one didn't work either. :(

You couldtry the VGA cable just to check, its a long shot though and it aint as good as DVI.

Sounds like RMA time. :(

I got home and amazingly my pc is working lol

My brother said he just turned it on, maybe it over heated or something.

But all is well now! :) Steam works now also, well nearly me thinks, damn slow internet today.

Very odd, run some stability tests, Orthos or Prime and memtest. see my sticky in the windows XP section for links. :)
