I have somehow managed to change my screen orientation so that the picture
lays on its side. The only way to keep this from happening is to keep my
laptop open (I have a seperate monitor). It is driving me crazy. How can I
fix it?

Look in your Display Properties applet under Adapter settings for
Rotation. Or use Ctrl-Alt-Arrow keys.

You are awsome........it worked. Now I know how I did it in the first place,
I was leaning over the keyboard doing something, and I must have hit that
combination of keys. I've been living with this for 6 months. I'm so glad I
stumbled on this newsgroup.........

I heard about this problem from a friend and tried to replicate it using the
Ctrl+Alt+Arrow keys but it does not affect my screen. I also do not seem to
have the option in Display to change the orientation. Is this just me?

No, it's a video-card-specific option. Your card probably doesn't have the
option.
