I need help, as I am totaly lost and don't really know what i'm looking for..Well I do, but I don't if you understand that..?
Let me explain a bit..A few weeks ago numb nuts here managed to get his foot somehow tangled in the cables for my Mac Pro monitor. walked away from me desk and the screen followed, with a crash and a bit of a pop where it got pierced by the edge of a fillilng cabinet...I've been looking at various Mac monitors and they are just to expensive and mines not repairable...But then I thought to myself I need a new TV for the front room and My Mac is in there..So thought i'd go along the lines of getting a flat screen that I can plug the Mac into..
But when it comes to stuff like this I am really not the cleverest..So would like just a wee bit of help...
I would ideally like something about 36"/38" and costing no more than £800..Any ideas help will be most appreciated..

Edit: Mods not sure if I posted in the right place..But i'm sure you'll move it if I haven't:p

Ideally mate for a TV you want LCD, 37" or 40" is best size really, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, all the same really, Sony is the same as well but add £150 as its a Sony.

3 x HDMI is the standard with 1080p easily in your budget, for a 37" you want a contrast minimum 12,500 : 1, 40" minimum 20,000 : 1.

You can only really tell the difference on bigger screens between 720p and 1080p, its just a bit sharper, the contrast is really where its at, thats where all your vibrant and realistic colours are gonna from.

I have a Toshiba REGZA 37", 25,000:1 contrast, 1080p, very good picture.

This is the newer, bit better version of mine, 100Hz model, this is what i would buy. £621

With the extra cash you could get a good 5.1 for your Mac if it ain't already or Blu-ray, oh i think you have a PS3???

This is mine, although i paid £140 more a few months ago.

Contrast is higher 25:000, same spec but is 60Hz, new one is 100Hz.

I think its a steal for less than £500.

The difference between the 50,60 or 100Hz is the higher the Hz the better the motion sensitivity of whats on the screen, basically it flows smoother, so you won't feel sick watching Cloverfield on a 100 Hz TV.
