Is there any way to have the screen lock on the
remote machine exited when the remote desktop
session is terminated?

Here's something to try--sometime I need to sit down where I can see the
target and see whether/how this works!
(so--let me know!)

%windir%\System32\tscon.exe 0 /dest:console

(at a cmd prompt, or in start, run.)
(so--just type that in your session when ready to quit.)

Thanks Mr. Sanderson! It works great.

Yep - I used it last night myself. I was updating an a/v app which has a
fairly laborious update process--wanted defs to have MyDoom in them this
morning--found a staffer working late. Grabbed his session, updated the
antivirus, and popped it back to where he'd been. He did notice it, but
barely!
