SCREEN LETTERS NOT KEEPING UP WITH TYPING SPEED

IE6 sp1. Windows 98 SE
The letters on the screen pop up real slow compared to the
typing of the letters on the keyboard.

It seems the screen is in slow motion.

Any Clues?
