Hope

For several months now, I've had problems with the screen
jumping up and down (even when I'm just trying to read e-
mail), and it's getting worse. When I type something, it
seems like the faster I type the faster it jumps up and
down and I can't really see what I'm typing because it may
jump up to the top of the page when I'm typing towards the
bottom of the page. I tried several trouble-shooting
options (including going to properties, settings, and
refreshing), and have also removed any electrical items
away from the computer to make sure nothing is interfering
with the computer. I even reinstalled all of my
software/drivers/printer/scanner with no change. Is this
a common problem? Is it a software problem or a hardware
problem? Someone please help! It's driving me batty
trying to type or read, although I just noticed that since
I've been typing this post, the screen has not jumped one
time. Is this a clue? HELP! Thanks.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check your vedio card and monitor.
First, make sure the vedio card is properly and firmly
seated into the AGP slot.
Secondly, make sure the connection cable is firmly
connected on both ends and ensure the cable is still in
good condition.
If you still have the same problem after the above
checking, try download and update the latest XP compatible
drivers from the vedio card manufacturer's website.
Also try to connect your monitor to other PC to ascertain
whether the problem is caused by the monitor itself.

Hope it helps.

When mine starts jumping I put a heavy object such as a
brick or cinder block on top of the monitor.
