i have just bought a hi grade laptop for christmas and first got it out to
find that the screen was somehow of a ver low contrast and
brightness,icanvery very faintly see my computer working fine but my screen
will not glow up properly wih the backlight there,whats happening,is this
something that can be fixed or do i need a knew laptop

Make sure the laptop is plugged in with the A/C adapter. Now look at the
manual that came with your laptop to see how to increase the brightness.
With some laptops, you need to press the FN key + [some other key]; with
other laptops you need to just press a function key. If you didn't get a
paper manual, there is usually a User's Manual on the hard drive - or
there will be one on the laptop mftr.'s website.

If you cannot increase the brighteness this way, then immediately return
the laptop for replacement.
