I installed WMP9 ages ago and evrything was fine.
Suddenly a couple of days ago every new song that I
played (mp3), I play it for 12 sec and then a fuzzy
screeching noise comes booming over my speakers for
nearly the whole song.

It isn't the file I've put on, cos I've tried it with
many songs and it only affects the NEW songs I get. Any
ideas cos I'm confused?

I have just encountered the exact same problem as you
have. The song starts off then it makes the worst noise I
have ever heard. It does not seem to be the player as I
duplicated this with musicmatch jukebox as well.

Who knows Maybe The Riaa is secretly spiking the punch
with corupted mp3 files hoping we will get sick of it all
to get us all to pay the outlandish prices for CD's
I still cannot understand how any store can charge $20
for a CD I mean that is Ridiculious!!! sometimes more.
Look at prices at FYE and Others they are so over the top
including DVD's as well look at this price
Band of Brothers DVD collection
FYE $119.95
Walmart 69.95

When will the RIAA wake up and smell the digital age and
come on board with something that makes sense instead of
spending money chasing joe schome to take him to court
and still get nothing done.

Random. Does it happen if you try to play the files back in mplayer2.exe
(already on your box)?
