Scratchey sound

I have an ASUS MB with sound onboard disabled due to a scratchy noise probelm. After installing Creative 5.1 Liv
I no longer have this problem with CD,s DVD,s or games but continue with Windows applications, online sites or windows sounds. I have installed all the latest drivers with no luck and have eliminated the speakers as the problem.
