I upgraded the bios on my mother board after loading XP professional. The
computer is now scpi compliant, but the device manager still shows "standard
PC".
How do I change to "scpi" and have the computer shutdown correctly? I hope
I don't hear "reinstall" is the only option!!
Thanks for any help.
John

Open Device Manager and check if you have NT APM/Legacy Support. If not, run
Add Hardware wizard and install its driver. Open Control Panel/Power
Options, tab APM, and enable APM support. Perform in-place upgrade, if you
want ACPI support.
