My windows scroll up and down regardless of what windows I am in. Browsers, explorer, word, excel..etc. If I place the mouse cursor on the task bar without a tab selected it stops. Does anyone know why? I have XP pro, on a compaq 5000 series 5B5W250

Thank
TM

Try the following:

Right click the Task Bar, then properties,
Start menu tab,
Start menu - Customize button,
Advanced tab,
Scroll down and uncheck - Scroll Programs.
OK, Apply and OK back to the desk top.
Reboot.

Try the following:

Go to the control panel and go thru the mouse setup,
Uncheck autoscrolling by selecting another option such as double click.

Apply and OK back to the desktop.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.
