I am running Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium when I shut down an annoying message comes up about schtask.exe. I don;t have a clue how it comes on or what is triggering it. Worse yet I don't know hoe to shut it off. Anyone please help me get rid of this annoying schtask.exe at power down shut off.

It sounds like you have a scheduled task on shutdown that is failing. Try running "taskschd.msc" to load the Task Scheduler, and see if there is anything happening when you shutdown :)

Hello Ian;

Thank you for your reply, I checked as you suggested and found
Session agent failed
System Data Provider Failed
and two that were Stopped
Manual Defrag
NAP Status UI
Although I have no Idea how to correct this problem so again I ask for help, please.
Thanks in advance
