Schema Question

I am upgrading to Exchange 2k3 from Exchange 5.5 and encountered an error
during the Forest Prep stage. The problem is that we use a 3rd party
DataWarehouse (Cognos) software package that extends the schema so that you
may use AD as the security post for the software. The problem is it uses 6
of the LinkIDs that Exchange 2000 and 2003 use when extending the schema for
Exchange to use. Right now I'm in a testing environment, and I have
re-numbered the LinkIds in the Exchange Schema files and so far so good, as I
am unable to Delete/Change the LinkIds for the Cognos Attributes. Does
anyone know if this is a big deal or am I ok to change these numbers as long
as I'm consistant?? I'm in a pinch and would like to move this into
production soon.
 
I would say that puts you in an unsupportable state for Exchange. I would
consider it a huge deal. Cognos screwed up bad. You need to go to them and ask
them how they intend to fix it.
